You know I'm hard up for a photo when I start photographing things around my house....however, I LOVE playing with focus and light. I also LOVE birds, trees, branches, bokeh, soooo........I like this photo very much . Recently, my husband and I took my brother to eat at the Cracker Barrel....my favorite place. They have this little gift shop and I immediately saw this little bird frame. I love frames....and miniature things of all kinds. This little frame only holds a 1" photo. The square vase in the background has a bare tree etched on the glass. I love that too, so I thought why not this for my photo.....I spilled out a few of the marbles and set it up on the counter by a window. It took a few tries to get it right, so it ended up to be good practice.
I have never been to Cracker Barrel... I've heard a lot about it though :) I like how the marble bokeh repeats both in the foreground and background!
ReplyDeleteI love the vibrant red. And cracker barrel is yummy! Good ol' southern cookin' :)

ReplyDeleteAh- you got the glass beads into the shot! Really nice depth of field and focus! Love it! Is there a Cracker Barrel in Utah??? I went to one for the first time in Georgia last year- I love Southern cooking!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo! I am in the same boat...too darn cold outside so we just have to get creative inside :)
ReplyDeleteI am constantly photographing things around the house. Being a stay at home mom, often my options are limited except for a million pictures of my daughter. :) Great shot!
ReplyDeleteKarren, I think taking photos of things that are special to you is a great idea! Your family will cherish the simple stories about Cracker Barrel and why you loved this bird. The red really pops.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with this shot. That frame is too cute! The vase looks pretty awesome too. : ) I love Cracker Barrel. I am looking forward to going there when we visit my parents in AZ!
