I have been trying to clean and organize the stash of stuff I have downstairs, for the past MANY years. I've finally reached a breaking point, and will be spending about 4 hours a week going through it all, and mostly carting it out to charity or the dump. This week yielded a few treasures. This little painting, I had completely forgotten about. When my son, Danny, was 10 years old, he had an interest in painting. My parents got him a few canvases and some oil paints for his birthday. He did this plane for my husband for Father's day, in 1984. My husband was thrilled that it was unearthed, and he will put it in a frame, for his office where he teaches music lessons.
That is really nice! When Ben was 2, I bought a canvas and had him paint me something. It turned into a big brown blob! Maybe one day he can paint me something like this!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat!! My boys would love a painting like that. It is fun to declutter when you find treasures like this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find. I am hoping you find more gems in the midst of your project.
ReplyDeleteI am doing the same thing right now, but haven't found treasures...just a lot of junk I need to get rid of! Glad it's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to find this!! It is really good.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome find! I think it will look great on your husband's wall. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe if I rephrase the term cleaning/decluttering to treasure hunting it will inspire me to finally organize my own basement!!
