December 19, 2010

I like these little battery operated candles. We prepared 40 of them to give to all the neighbors on our street. Each one is in a little glass candle holder. I attached the words to a song I remember from my elementary school days. These are the words as I remember them:
Set a candle in the window
So the little Christ may know,
That someone will bid Him welcome
to the dreary world below.
Let it shine clear and bright..
through the dark and lonely night.
Set a candle in the window,
for the Christ child comes tonight.

  2. You are definitely from Murray. All the songs that we learned that I thought everyone knew. They were wonderful carols by W.F. Robinson!

  3. The 2nd verse as I recall..
Keep it shining through the darkness
Lest he linger on the way
Though no one may bid him welcome
    Here forever he may stay.
Let it shine clear and bright..
through the dark and dreary night.
Set a candle in the window,
for the Christ child comes tonight.
