Yarrow close up

Here are two shots with the close up filter. I am inexperienced with it, plus there was a slight breeze, and it started to rain, so I didn't spend more than 5 minutes on it. I will try it again under better circumstances. For those of you who know...is this what I should expect, or do you think I could have focused closer? These little individual blossoms are extremely tiny, about the size of a mustard seed.

  1. I don't have a macro lens and have thought about gettting one of these filters, so I'll be anxious to hear what everyone says and see how you like it. BTW, there's a computer here in the hotel and I have some down time, so I'm happy because I keep up with what everyone is doing. Yeah.

  2. Which lens did you use? I hear you get better results (and it's been my experience) with the filter on a zoom lens at the 100-200 focal range. Your DOF looks about right--the focal plane will seem so much smaller. Glad you're experimenting with this--once you get the hang of it, I think you'll love your results!
