December 7, 2010

I had such a nice surprise in the mail yesterday. My dear mother, lived here with us for ten years before she passed away two and a half years ago. She would have been 92 years old this year, on Dec 23rd. She lived 20 years in St George, before she moved in with us. Her dearest friend there, who helped her so much, sent this sweet little ornament to me. She thought of mom when she saw her name....GRACE. I will treasure it always.

  1. What a sweet friend you have, and a wonderful ornament!! I love this shot, especially with the starbursts off your Christmas tree lights!! I'm sorry I have been MIA lately. I am feeling so overwhelmed right now and have taken a break from commenting on photos. But, I saw this one and just had to tell you!

  2. That is very sweet, and very special. Just like grandma Smith was.

  3. Love the starbursts and your story. The German traditions you speak of in your last post are really fun too! I had never heard of it :)

  4. It's so sweet that she would take the time and effort to do that for you. What a testament to your mom's impact on those around her. It's amazing how something so simple can mean so much.
