My granddaughter, Olivia, was baptized today, by her daddy, (my son Danny). This is right before we left for the church. I have had this particular photo in mind for weeks. My first idea was to have one of those oval mirrors on the stand, and have the photo taken from the back of them with both of them looking into the mirror. They are too expensive, and I couldn't find one to borrow. I like this one though. The necklace that she is wearing is a nice one that my mother had. When Olivia was given the middle name Grace, after her, she gave her this necklace. She was just a baby at the time. Livvy was 5 years old when her great-grandma died, and she remembers her well. I am happy that she wore this necklace today. I felt like my mom was watching over her on this special occasion
Father and Daughter
I've been doing pretty good lately and all of a sudden I cry at the drop of a hat again. Writing my post made me cry and reading yours sealed the deal. I need to take out stock in Kleenex! Special days are so hard and bring the pain right back in such a personal way that it's hard to really enjoy the moment without them here. I'm so glad Livvy has wonderful memories and a beautiful necklace to remember her great grandmother by. And, your first picture is AMAZING! I love it! What a wonderful idea and the look of complete adoration you captured on Livvy's face is so wonderful! All I can say is WOW! Very, very nice! ((Hugs)) to you my friend and may you find peace and some joy on Mother's Day.

ReplyDeleteWow, Karren, what a sweet way to capture the day. I'm afraid all I got when Matt was baptized was a picture of him going into and coming out of the water. What precious memories. God bless you and your family.
