I have a responsibility in my church, to work with the young girls between the ages of 8-11.
We have an activity twice a month. They learn all kinds of things from having Faith in God, helping and serving others, to developing their talents and skills. I found this sweet little embroidery pattern at my favorite stitchery shop, a few days ago. I thought it would be easy enough, and a fun project for all of them to learn. Skills like embroidery have taken a back seat to modern technology. Today, my pattern was in, so I went to pick it up, and snapped this photo of the finished project. I picked out some materials, which I think are even cuter!!!
Gardner Village, where the stitchery shop is located, is my favorite place to go and stroll around. It was cold today, but I took a minute to look out the back door of the shop, just to see what was happening at the stream. I couldn't resist these two pretty ducks, who were just hanging out at the edge of the water.
I LOVE that project! Can I pay you to get me one to do with Cessna?- perfect for spring and all that represents!
ReplyDeleteHeather, I am planning a little date with Cessna and Livvy and I will supply everything.
ReplyDeleteVery cute project! The ducks almost look fake! LOL
ReplyDeleteagreed! that is a cute project! and those ducks are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute project! That would look great hanging on any little girl's wall :)
ReplyDeleteCute project but what I really love is learning about your project with the young girls at church. What an awesome thing for you to do, and I love finding out things like this about my 365 friends.
ReplyDeleteDitto my friend :o) As much as I've enjoyed this photo journey, I've enjoyed the new friendships even more. I always look forward to your comments too, and as you know, they help keep me motivated even when it's hard to keep trudging forward.
ReplyDeleteTracy, Catherine, and I have thrown out the idea of a 365 get together somewhere, sometime. I think it would be so awesome to try to do; let me know if you'd be game.
I love embroidery as well- and that pattern is adorable! I love the buttons and I hope you post your finished product!
ReplyDeleteSo true about basic sewing/stitching skills. I wish often that my grandmother was still around to teach me some things. Love the project idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty little project!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little craft. Love the water/duck shot too. They had a program like this at my church when I was little called King's Daughters. Fun memories.
