My youngest daughter, Becky, danced all of her life. She enjoyed different kinds of dance, but was always partial to clogging. Not the hoe down big square dancing skirts you may be thinking of.......more power tap style. She won awards all over the nation, with teams, duets and individuals. She also was the recipient of three coveted MVP awards on a national level. She taught dance for awhile...but finally dropped it altogether several years ago, when Marriage and having children became her priority. Well, long story short......a group of dancers, in their 20's some married with children, now have established a team. All of them are very good Pro dancers. They started practicing in November, and tonight was their first competition. They won first place in their division. They did two team dances tonight. This one is moving line.
Below, is Traditional. you can tell they are having a wonderful time. Becky is happy to be dancing again after four years off. (She is Rory and Avi's mom)
Her is Rory...on the sidelines.....dancing her little heart out. She made other little friends who are children of the dancers on her mom's team. Since these dancers came from all different studios .... they don't really have a "home" anymore, so they call themselves "Identity Crisis". Thus, the "Crisis Kid" shirts on their children. I can see that Rory has it in her blood. She just loved the music and the dancing. She danced like this for several hours. I believe that dancing just may be in her future.
