100 years!

My father in law would have been 100 years old yesterday. He passed away a few weeks short of his birthday on Christmas Eve. We often celebrated his and my mother in law's birthdays together because they were only a few days apart. So, last Sunday when we were together for her 94th, we also celebrated the fact that Fritz was born 100 years ago. We are all grateful for his life, and for the legacy he left us. He was an avid mushroom hunter, so, this cake and the five little ones representing his five children were to remember him.

Large mylar balloons were released while a grandson played his favorite tune on the Accordion. The little great-grandchildren were all dancing in the street. You can see the notes attached to the strings. Little love notes to Opa, on this special day.

  2. Wow! That's so impressive that he lived so long even if it was a little bit shy of the big 100. This is such a beautiful way to remember him and celebrate his life. May he rest in peace.
