Day 49 Sunset over the Oquirrh's

I live at the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. I am very close to the magnificent Rocky mountain range on the East. The Oquirrh mountains are farther away on the West side of the valley. This is where the well known Bingham Copper Mine is located. I wish my view were unobstructed to the West, but there are always trees, buildings, etc in the way of the sunsets, which are often gorgeous. You'd think I could get out to the lake for the sunset sometime...well sometime I will make the effort to be there at the right time. Tonight, I was driving down to Petco for dog food, and saw these beautiful clouds to the West. I pulled into a parking lot and snapped a photo with my PS. It was almost dark...these vibrant colors were gone three minutes later.

  8. That is definitely one of those times I bet you were glad you had a camera with you...even if it was a P/S. Yours did a great job in this setting. I bought Randi a Canon PowerShot SD1300IS at Office Max with a great warranty. It is her second one because she broke the first one swinging it around, but I felt it was better to get her a decent little camera vs. one of those kid camera's so she could really learn something with it and so I could use it too.
