Day 39 My Birthday

Feb 8......my birthday! Today I am 67 years young. You may ask...what am I doing at the cemetery? Well, since I was 15 years old, I always, without exception, gave my mother flowers on my birthday. It always seemed like the right thing to do, thanking the one who gave me life, watched over me, prayed for me, encouraged me and loved me, no matter what. I miss her so much! This is the third year now, that the flowers are silk, and delivered here to the cemetrery. Of course they are more for me now, than for her, but I love thinking of her,
(and my father) today. I cannot thank them enough for all they gave to me.

  1. Such sweet thoughts...brought a tear to my eye. Right now I can only imagine the loss that I will feel when that time comes for me. I honor your strength and hope I will be able to have the same.

  10. Btw, before my mother in-law passed away last year, she used to give me flowers on my kids' birthdays, as a thank you to me for the same reason you're thanking your mom! :)

  13. I made it through the whole day without crying once....and then I read your post. My heart aches for you...and for me. Life just isn't the same without the one who brought us into this world. I am so sorry your mom isn't with you any more, but thank you for sharing this tender moment with us. I wish I could give you a great big hug right now.
