September 14, 2010

We went back to the State Fair today. We enjoyed the exhibits, and took a picnic lunch. The weather was perfect. I had visualized a wonderful sunset, and being able to catch a great silouette of the ferris wheel. This is as close as I could come to that. We briefly looked at the photography again. One of my photos, the one of the train, had a little orange stick note on it. I saw a few others with those, and when I inquired about it, was told that it is one of 20 photos that were chosen for a traveling exhibit around the state for the next year. They will frame it and it will go to schools and libraries. I feel so honored that one of mine was chosen.
Ferris wheel at night

As you can see, it was not very busy there tonight. Being a school night, and a little cooler temperatures, plus a little rain here and there, it was not really heavily attended, which suited us fine.

  3. I love both the ferris wheel shots! The sunset wasn't too bad. The clouds look like cotton candy. Fitting for the fair right? Anywho, congrats on the photo tour. That is awesome! : )

  5. Did you bring a tripod for the ferris wheel shot at night? I couldn't hold my hand steady enough to get the straight lines like yours. I posted some similar pics from the fair on my blog too. Funny we both took pics of those same crayons. We went Monday night and I think I spotted a couple of your prints in the photography exibit. Nice job! My prints didn't do as well unfortunately. I guess I need some advice on the type of prints to submit for a fair. Never entered before. Learning experience after seeing all the others...
