JULY 4, 2010

I mended her yesterday......this sweet little flag that flies, proudly, from a pole, stuck into a fence post at the end of our driveway. My husband insisted that I mend her first thing.....I love how he loves her...this "other woman". That comes from living the first 18 years of his life in East Germany, under Communist leadership, and going through all of the sacrifices necessary, to come to America for all of the freedoms she has to give.

  1. This caught my eye immediately. Love the perspective, nice job! I enjoyed your post on your blog. We truly do have so much to be grateful for. Wish they still prayed in public schools today. I still get all emotional every time I stand with my hand on my heart in front of the American flag. We said the pledge of allegiance with the primary kids today and I was all choked up thinking about how truly blessed we all are to enjoy the freedoms that we do and to live in this great land.
