This is an authentic German fruit torte. It is my mother-in-law's recipe. She made it for years, but now that she is in her 90's she is not into baking anymore. I made this for them. I needed to try it out again because it has been years since I made it. My son wanted to make it, so I tried it out before giving him the instructions, just to make sure I had the process right. It turned out perfect, and my inlaws were delighted with it. It is really delicious, with a wonderful cookie crust that is almost like Scottish Shortbread.
