Day 55 February 22, 2010

This is a doll from my collection. She is approximately 58-60 years old. She was a favorite of mine as a child. She had molded, painted hair. One Christmas when my parents had very little money for gifts, my mother cut up a peach colored taffeta dress that she had worn to her sisters wedding, and she made a dress for me, and one for this doll. Sadly, they are long gone now. She also cut my very long hair and made this beautiful wig for my doll which she glued in place. I have always loved her because of the love that my mother had shown by making something beautiful for me from the things she had on hand. She was the most creative person I have ever known.

  1. Wow- I never knew she did that! The kids did receive their package- I planned to have them call and thank you in the morning. I did not get my mail until I was on the way out to take Cessna to Ballet, and then the evening just got away from me like it always does. Thank you for thinking of them- did you get their card? It should have arrived very close to V-day.
